Significant Impact presents “Child Abuse - A Toxic Heirloom” seminar and “More than Just Surviving” and “Roads to Recovery” One Pothole at a Time workshops in 2012
Significant Impact's speciality is childhood abuse/trauma, the impact in adult life and upon subsequent generations. They specifically emphasise “survivors behaviours” and ways to change these behaviours in order to lead more productive and healthy lives.
Significant Impact's introductory seminar “Child Abuse - A Toxic Heirloom” is aimed towards anyone who has a lived experience of childhood abuse, is a partner, friend or family member of someone who has had this experience, as well as practitioners in the community services sector.
Significant Impact are also able to deliver this seminar to staff groups in meetings or as professional development in a 2 hour session.
Significant Impact's two day workshops are streamed towards more particular groups, as follows:
“More than Just Surviving”- is intended to aid those with a lived/personal experience of childhood abuse to develop further insight, explore a range of approaches to managing or changing their survivor behaviours, and offer hope for recovery.
“Roads to Recovery” One Pothole at a Time - is designed for practitioners to gain further insight into the impact/s of childhood trauma on our clients and their families, to enhance intervention techniques for working with survivor behaviours, as well reflection upon our own practice including self care and vicarious trauma.
Significant Impact are offering both workshops in two venues in April to begin with this year, for details please see the advertising flyer attached. The registration form for these workshops is also attached.
Significant Impact are also keen to develop community partnerships which would provide complimentary places for two staff members if a venue can be negotiated within an organisation.
